Even though Urban Science claims to be innovative, most of the solutions are outdated. Development is painstakingly slow and out of touch with the clients' needs. People who deal with clients on a daily basis have little influence on development.
It's common for people to get stuck at a certain level due to the rigid career ladder. These people are expected to take on responsibilities above their pay grade for months, even years before being promoted.
Employee turnover is pretty bad. The vast majority left since I joined, usually for better career opportunities or a higher salary. A lot of new hires replacing them have 0 relevant experience.
The workload disparity is disturbing. For some people consistent overtime is necessary just to keep up (some departments have been understaffed for years). Meanwhile other employees are bored out of their mind. Not sure what you should hope for when you join.
