We're happy you recognize UTA as a good company. HR Business Partner pay, as with all pay at UTA, is based on the market. Each year UTA surveys the local and national market to ensure we're paying the correct amount that will attract new employees and retain our seasoned professionals,

Pros

The company is a great place to get a first 'real' job, get some experience, and learn how to deal with the real world. It's got lots of people who actively enjoy their jobs, and it's very stable with the union for the majority of the work force.

Cons

If you've been with the company for over 2 years, you're practically in the senior half of the work force; the turnover rate is horrible, even for management. The majority of the unionized workforce would sell their own mother for a bonus, rather than hold out for better wages. Management is overpaid, bargaining employees are underpaid.

Not a job for everyone

Pros

Good pay, benefits, co-workers are awesome, hours can be good, overtime if you want it, seeing nice sights outside without much fear,

Cons

The extra board SUCKS. You don’t find out your schedule until 5:00 the night before if you’re lucky. You work a 14+ hour window, “occasionally” working outside your window turns into every day. You get no life the years you’re on the board. You are basically enslaved the them. There’s very little reason to publish the schedule a day in advance, on paper. They say you’ll never work overtime on your day off if you don’t want to, but they pressure into saying yes. You’re working with the public and therefor people treat you as an object not a human (not the fault of UTA, just something to consider).
