Pros

Great for learning if your are pre-vet and also need LORs Overall good culture- very supportive and good learning environment Learn a ton about animal diseases, treatments/procedures, and drug dosages (great for pre-vet students)

Cons

Can be very sad/stressful at times due to nature of the ER Higher risk for burn out given 12hr shifts and late night/overnight shifts Less direct interaction with clients and pets (have to be hands-off)
