Pros

Facilities are nice, can bring pets

Cons

Extremely cliquey, critically understaffed, blatant favoritism, unbelievable hypocrisy . Absolutely biased against those who don’t look and act the way VEG wants . Patient care is dead last on their radar, they are not equipped to handle true emergencies, and shut down anyone that brings this up. The ones that are favored attack and target others and make it a career death sentence to speak up. There were several instances of targeting, intimidation and wrongful termination. You are not safe here. If you voice any issues they label you as “negative” or “gossip” and will threaten you.

Pros

Overall, everything that is "most important" in a job/career is pretty decent. The pay, the schedule (given your hospital follows the 3, 12-hour shifts a week rule that VEG has), the benefits, etc... There's a lot of room for learning and growth (again, that depends on how open your hospital's team is with teaching, helping you grow and letting you do things). CE is great. They pay for Penn Foster and support you through it. There's a ton of other small perks, too!

Cons

VEG is opening too many hospitals too fast. They need to slow down and focus on their standing hospitals/employees. I hear from other hospitals that VEG is looked down upon and considered a "joke" these days. They need to focus on their original values / morals that we were all promised when VEG first started. Each hospital is different, depending on the team and management, some moral and culture is extremely low. Overall, there's a lot of unhappy people with VEG and theres a large group wanting to leave / have already left (at least in the Chicagoland area). It's always concerning when places turn into revolving doors with employees. There's a lot of "fake-ness" and hiding behind a happy social media following. I think the CEO's need to slow down and pay more attention. I feel as if VEG is going downhill fast.

Pros

Liked to provide food, taking time off was always approved

Cons

It is a toxic work environment, that you will realize after working here a few months/weeks. If you do good hard work you will not be recognized, but they will love you for all non work related things to promote themselves like post selfies, instagram stories and take pictures with all the clients and pets. Post pictures and videos but your patients haven't been fed, medicated or walked for 10 hours great! Everything they speak about is fake, its toxic positivity where you can't speak your mind, you can't challenge them, you can't question their decisions, you are expected to drink the juice, keep quiet and smile. They protect all their doctors because they are afraid to lose them, the doctors are not held to the same standard the employees are. Culture, where is the "happy family" culture when the doctor is yelling and screaming at you, how great is it when your coworkers (and doctors) gossip about everyone? There are people with titles of Regional MD and Regional Managers who are unreachable, unsupportive and put the blame back on you when you reach out for help or support. HR protects people that should be terminated because they don't want to have a lawsuit, yet good people quit because its toxic, rewarding the people that do nothing is a poor example of good culture. Do you want selfies posted and silly videos or do you want a post GDV surgery monitored? Its all a show, everyone seems so nice but then you realize its a corporation and you have no idea where the company went that you initially signed up for.
