Thank you for sharing your feedback. Culture is so important to us, and this is not the experience we want you to have here. Even though you don’t work at VEG any longer, we want to make sure others don’t have this experience. If you’d be willing to have a conversation with us, please reach out to stephaniedemars@veg.vet.

Pros

CE benefits are great. If you’re new to the field, they’ll literally teach you everything (at the expense of their experienced nurses)

Cons

Absolutely horrendous communication. How many times do we need to request that the schedule be done within an appropriate timeframe? It make zero sense. We won’t get our schedule until less than a week and a half before the new month starts. Then it will be for two months at a time, even though we allegedly have up until 30 days before the start of a scheduled to request PTO. So if someone requests time, the schedule will change anyway. We had senior nurses who wanted to help with the schedule and they got demoted or fired. Most of the nurses with experience who opened the hospital are gone. The experienced nurses we do have left are burnt out trying to train personality hires with no experience. All but one of our shift leads are now gone after less than 6 months. Now they want to open a second Philly hospital when we can’t even staff the first one.

Pros

Some of the people working there.

Cons

Sounds like a vet job too good to be true, and it is after a few weeks. Disorganized, will offer you one thing and they “forget” and then “cut back.” The swag they give is great, but it’s all sneaky advertising. The care is mediocre as they cannot maintain critical cases. Within a few months of working, they had removed anything that set the company aside as far as benefits and perks. This job was disappointing to say the least, constantly short staffed and trying to get around rewarding staff for extra. The food they claim to bring in and have there weekly, be sure to get the best level of health coverage because it’s all crap, you’ll need a cardiologist. They also buy cheap and ask you to eat before so you don’t eat too much of what they have there. Again, don’t believe it, they have gone back on their word and it’s nothing different from your every day hostile emergency vet hospital with bullies and “know it alls.” If you say something about it, you’re constantly ignored because the management level doesn’t want to deal with it. They’ll pay you as low as possible and HR is a joke to contact, if they can even direct you to HR. It’s all a big attention scam to suck you in thinking it’s a great place when realistically, it’s typical and common with its issues and stalling
