Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. We are sorry that you don’t share our excitement about VNSNY and its future. Please note that VNSNY offers new employees 30 paid time off days per year, not “vacation” days, as stated. These days are to be used for all time off needs, not just vacation.
Like every organization that exists in an ever-changing environment, VNSNY has created new leadership positions to provide the strategic guidance necessary to keep us competitive in an ever-evolving marketplace. Our leadership teams consist of both people with long tenure and people who have joined us from other health care providers and health plans, providing VNSNY with a healthy balance of expertise about our business. And just like other healthcare organizations, VNSNY is constantly finding more efficient and effective means for meeting its customers’ needs. At times, this has resulted in staffing reductions. However, we have worked diligently with impacted staff to place them in other vacant positions within the organization. When this has not been possible, affected employees have been offered severance packages. Although severance is not legally required, VNSNY believes that severance can provide a security bridge to the impacted employee’s next job. It is in no way motivated by a desire to avoid legal action.
VNSNY has proudly served the New York community for 125 years and plans to be here, in this century and beyond, with a clear understanding of the challenges in the health care landscape and a new strategic direction based on the unique competencies that we have as an organization. The Board fully supports the strategic direction and our senior leadership team as a whole. Our leaders strike a balance between keeping their eyes on the horizon ahead and staying in touch with the day-to-day realities of the work that we do each day. Our President and Chief Executive Officer has served VNSNY for over 35 years, providing a full understanding of the work we do at every level. Above all, they recognize the importance of engaged employees who are vested in our broader mission and service to the community. We encourage you to speak with your manager or senior leader about your concerns so we can address them more fully.
