Pros
Guaranteed Overtime whether you want it or not. They expect you to work late and long hours to make up for short staffing due to a business growing faster than they could internally keep up with and hiring shortages in the economy.
Cons
No trust until you prove yourself over and over. People are human and life happens, but they frown on taking time off and actually discourage it with the vacation policy for the backbone employees. Probably due to high turnover rate from the hard working conditions and baseline benefits that wear out employees quickly with a need for expansion and manpower, but no budget to do so properly. High expectations regarding time off within your first 3 -9 months due to high turnover because of lack of understanding work - life balance.
