Pros

Valet Living has been a breath of fresh air as a sales executive during my first 90 days. I have experienced a good balance of strong sales focus, engaged leadership, and healthy company culture. In my market, there is an abundance of opportunity to grow and succeed. The company makes it clear that this is a longer sales cycle (90-120 days), so this may be an adjustment to someone accustomed to a short (30 days) sales cycle such as digital advertising, as was my background. In this role, you need to build your pipeline, keep it full, and work closely with the national team to close deals. You will receive the autonomy and support to be successful.

Cons

As the company innovates and brings new concepts to market, certain offerings do not have clearly defined sales messaging.

Pros

Doing reports from home Company provided vehicle, phone, laptop and iPad Company leadership (I know this is surprising)

Cons

The job itself is not good. The company seems to have the best of intentions, the senior leadership, my boss included, were all great! The actual District Manager job was not what you would expect from that title. -Morning starts at 8am, you work until 12pm-1pm and then start again around 6pm until 11pm-12am or later. -If someone calls out, you as the District Manager are the one who has to go and collect all of the trash. This could be for multiple properties. -The work life balance is not good, your work phone will ring constantly with calls and notifications. You are expected to always answer. -The pay for the Service Valets is very low for the work they are expected to do, the usage of their personal truck, and the usage of their personal phone. -Constant struggle with the communities in your market. Residents and property management will frequently lie about missed trash. The lies are 100% believed always. -

Thank you for taking time to provide a review. We value our associates and their feedback and I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t feel the District Manager position was a good fit for you. Our DMs work very hard to ensure we are setting the standard for our clients and residents. This position does offer a fair amount of flexibility, working a split shift in the a.m. (typically from home) and in the p.m. (in the field/market). Managing a part time workforce can be a challenge and there will be times when an associate calls out. Our District Managers are trained and provided support to establish a workforce team to cover for their properties and these scenarios. In some instances, the District Manager may need to cover a property however this is the exception, not the norm expectation. We consistently evaluate the pay rate for our part time Service Valet position and have adjusted in markets where necessary to ensure we are paying competitively for the work performed and continue to pay a higher rate to those associates using their own truck to complete work. We take all resident or client complaints seriously and investigate each claim to ensure we are providing the level of service expected. In many instances, we simply need to educate the residents or client to ensure understanding of our service standards. Thank you for providing a review. I'm happy to hear that you find the flexibility and growth potential to be positives. We are focused on doing everything possible to decrease our part time associate attrition. While our turnover in these roles is comparable to similar and all other industries that hire part time, we believe the additional work being done to increase pay, add benefits such as tuition reimbursement and our rewards and recognition program will help. We have a comprehensive recruiting strategy and tool/resources available for our District Managers. If you would like to discuss these further, please reach out to me directly at antonio.fiorentino@valetliving.com.
