Pros

Benefits are great, as they'll tell you over and over again. The job itself teaches you a lot about investing just by doing it.

Cons

They talk up their training program for the series 7 test so much, but it is not nearly as good as they think it is. All they do is review information, they do not try to teach you anything. Also, in any other financial organization, you get to take the series 7 test up to 3 times (its a 6 hour test consisting of 250 crazy hard questions), Vanguard gives you only 2 opportunities then kicks you to the curb. What's worse, we received a piece of paper from our "supervisor" the day before the second attempt saying that we would no longer be allowed on the premises should we fail the test - as if we didn't have enough on our mind with our job on the line. The supervisors are vastly unqualified. Ours just smiled at us at every meeting, not really what you want to see when your telling them how much you're struggling with the test. They offered zero solutions other than "keep taking practice questions" Really? wow, never thought of that super obvious option. Once you look through the "veil" of their Vanguard super company propaganda you realize that they are like any other company with many, many flaws that they have become too big to fix or care about. They also push people out of the company once they get close to age 50, regardless of how hard they've worked or how much value they bring to the organization. Vanguard does not care about you.
