Pros

Decent PTO, retirement match Quick response to pandemic to allow WFH 37.5 hour work week for individual contributors

Cons

CEO is not client focused, and views employees as a cost rather than an asset Crew are underpaid; and leaving in droves Cut health benefits starting in 2022, which helped make up for lower salary Punitive , micromanaging leadership - over focus on metrics Creaky, out of date technology Rampant ageism - young, inexperienced employees often chosen for leadership because they are easily compliant despite the negative environment in their efforts to move up the ladder.

Pros

Good PTO if you can last long term. Paycheck every 2 weeks.

Cons

Where to begin. Poor software that causes not only clients but crew pain. Low pay compared to industry standard. Don’t believe what HR tells you. Constant changes from management without consulting the people that talk to the clients, the crew. Partnership payments going down while AUM continue to rise. Back to back calls. Constantly having to take overflow calls from other departments due to call volumes. And no mention of a pay raise other than the 2 percent raise at year end which does not meet inflation. Extremely long wait times for clients and crew. Sometimes well over 2 hours. And management seems to act surprised when the Philadelphia Inquirer writes a bad article, which is true. I’ve been at Vanguard for over 10 years. This is not the Vanguard I fell in love with. Only way things will change is if clients and crew start leaving in high numbers.

Pros

You feel empowered to do what is best for your clients without the pressure or competing priorities of working on commission. You also have a ton of resources at your disposal to ensure that you can deliver advice to clients.

Cons

Advisor's tend to have very low capacity due to the increased demand which can cause you to have a very busy day.
