Pros

People are professional and helpful. Most employees are bought into Vanguard’s mission that Jack Bogle set forth and have client’s best interest at heart.

Cons

- Climate has changed very drastically and the current CEO leadership leans towards authoritarian and “paternalistic” - Seeks “feedback” and “honest opinions” for “Return to Office” but they don’t want to hear it. They get annoyed when employees utilize existing channels (few and far between) to voice concerns - Compensation not competitive and is lower than market average. Yet leadership believes that employees are unhappy with pay because “they don’t understand their compensation package” - deviating from mission of standing for all investors. Standing closer to investors who have larger portfolios

Pros

Some really good people, especially on the front lines. Many folks really really do care about clients and client outcomes.

Cons

Huge laggards on DEI. I get asked uncomfortable questions about my ethnicity all the time. Comp is way behind competitors. Our total rewards plan is touted as being “competitive” but there’s no data to back this up. If you seek out your own data, you will see that you will make way more and have better bennies at our main competitors. Huge failures are covered up. We have heaps of technical issues and outages. But it doesn’t matter. We pretend everything is great. Technology is mostly from the early 2000s. Sales people will break any rules to make a buck. Trust in executive leadership is at an all-time low. They’ve done a few things this year and last that has caused folks to really lose trust. Nobody wants to return to the office, people are quitting left and right, but we won’t change course.

-Decent health benefits -Paid Time Off package is not accrued, it is fixed annually and grows with each year of tenure -Full-Time hours are 37.5 per week

Cons

-Horrendous management. From a Team Leader, to a Line Manager, to Senior Management, to the CEO. -Management treats you like a child -The work and assignments are degrading
