Pros

Great benefits package. Many of the co workers are friendly. A decent work like balance. Well respected company in industry.

Cons

I agree with everyone who says moving up is a bit of a joke. Many junior managers are incompetent, and are in their positions due to tenure. Very conservative culture that likes to censor its employees. Not a good company for creative people, as many of your ideas get lost in shuffle/never get implemented. Very reactive company, despite its claims in trying to be innovative.

Pros

The training provided as a new hire was much stronger than that for most of the industry. The 401k package is quite strong and the health coverage is above average. Vanguard has very strong ethics. The company has never laid anyone off - ever!

Cons

The longer you work there, the more you will learn of the short-comings of the company. To name a couple: there are constant technology issues that never get fixed, sometimes no one knows what is going on with a particular business process, the company cannot admit it made a mistake, and the company continues to hire college graduates into leadership positions that do not have the proper background, training or experience, thereby creating inferior people leaders. Cash compensation is lower than average.
