Pros

Benefits (PTO, family leave, tuition reimbursement) People - some of my best friends work are people I met at Vanguard If you are motivated and favored, you have the ability to advance and attend seminars, webinars, events designed around career development. Great internal resources for learning if you take advantage of them (although this often has to be on your own time)

Cons

Favoritism runs rampant and they focus too heavily on interviews vs actual performance. Someone who is more polished with no experience is often going to get the job over a top performer. The job security and commitment to crew (employees) that used to exist is gone. Tim Buckley is slowly selling off business groups to vendors that do not deliver. Strictly focused on the bottom line and not the quality of service. Advice might be Engine One, but when growth stops you're not going to be left with enough people to run the business

Pros

Incredible benefits, incorporate employees in the process so they have a voice and feel heard. Onboarding was smooth and the resources are enormous. If you're lost or unsure what to do there's always someone. The experience is what you make it so be eager and kind

Cons

They throw you into the certifications quickly so be prepared to learn a lot quickly. It's manageable so long as you know your own study styles and commit to doing the work (especially when no one is holding you accountable)

Pros

Great benefits Fantastic partnership program

Cons

They are shameless when promoting diversity They discriminate older/tenured workers (especially those who started without a degree) Many managers are bullies who are rotated from department to department, allowing no one else to move (unless you are part of their clique) If you are bullied go straight to HR because management will not help and it will go against you eventually As stated above, they are cliquish, if you don't run with their pack, they will not only exclude you, they will ostracize you, highlighting those that fit their image They promote the same people over and over again The worst: They lay off people by "firing" you for whatever it is they make up about you, then pay you a severance by signing paperwork to never go out publicly against them. It's shameful, really, and way too many people have gone through this.
