Pros

Job stability, Great for a call center

Cons

Where do I start: A recruiter will straight up lie to you about the position to get you in the door. I was told this was a hybrid project role. I assure you it is not. This is a call center role if anyone describes it as anything else they are lying. Pretty much almost all position you can hope to be promoted too is phone roles similar to what you will be doing in this role. The best way I figure to describe my experience at Vanguard is a mixture of high school and Walmart put together masquerading as a brokerage firm. Not for anyone who detests micromanaging your whole day is recorded. Not to say that is is absolutely your time here will be completely terrible, whoever yo get as a team leader ultimately will determine how things go. Trust me some people will get team leaders who will go to bat to make sure their vanguard experience is better than others. Turnover is high

It is a cult

Pros

Benefits are good. They have a very generous benefit package. If you are lazy, it’s a great place to work.

Cons

It is a cult. You better never offer suggestions or challenge management. You are paid to execute, not to think. You are a soldier. Nothing more. Management is arrogant with a lot of empty suits.

Pros

Licencing and training period is a time to make good friends. After you get your license, run away.

Cons

Beware. The culture and management for this job is to get you "in line."; to make you a subordinate. It is a left wing government. More like a dictatorship. If I knew what I knew what I would've rejected the job offer. They will try to brainwash you with their culture and advancement opportunities. It is all fake. Manangement goal is to make you a straight soldier (robot) who can follow orders. You will be put down, humiliated and you will never achieve a "Fully Successful" rating on your year end review. They will put you into programs, and promote employee engagement. Yet, you'll never see change. They will control your lunch time and your PTO. Do not plan on taking off time on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year. You won't get it. If you plan to move out of the phones, forget it. Virtually impossible to achieve. If you plan to beat the status quo, forget it. Management will not like it and will bring you down. You are entering the most entry level in the company and will be treated like a kid. Do not expect respect, overachiever, or to be right. You will always be wrong; even when you're right. Be prepared to become submissive and subordinated. Be prepared to be fully controlled and micro managed. Be prepared to be a robot and a production machine. Be prepared to be underpaid most of all. Your pay grade is the lowest. Human Resources will not let you move up the ranks even when you are very talented because of your pay grade. It is easier to get into a higher paying job herr if you are an external. If you plan to move fast, this is not the place for you. It is a horrible, cultural, political dictatorship.
