Pros

This is a great company to work for! The environment is very women-empowering-women (although yes, there are also plenty of male employees, too). Your territory determines where your compensation starts, but your performance can always increase that - no caps on commission. Working from home and setting your own hours is a huge plus, although be aware that you do have to work around your coaches' schedules and that means nights and weekends during peak seasons. Selling the highest-quality product always makes for an easier sales position. There's a reason that many reps/managers don't ever leave the job... why would you want to?? Lots of the open sales rep positions are because new territories are being created as the company grows.

Cons

Lots of out of pocket expenses (gas, samples, etc.). Would love to see the company providing more of this investment in its reps to enable us to do a good job!

Pros

Flexibility. Fun industry working for a company for has a passion for young people and always tries to do right by their employees and customers.

Cons

Very long hours for about 4 months a year. Maternity leave during busy season.

Pros

I have been with Varsity for nearly 20 years and there are some really great things about the company. First, there are so many great people that work for the company. You can dress down in the office. You are given a good amount of vacation time, especially over the holidays.

Cons

Being a State Director who works in the Memphis office, you don't necessarily have the same flexibility as those who work outside of the office. State (Sales) Directors who work in the office are given additional responsibilities that don't necessarily have anything to do with sales. There is a lot of travel required over the weekends. You are not compensated for this travel or given additional vacation time. The pay could be higher. There isn't much room for growth or career advancement.
