Pros

Great Core Values! Great Benefits! Employees have a voice! Great sense of family feel. Senior support. They allow you to run your property without micro-managing. Venterra trusts their employees, and empowers them to make day to day decisions.

Cons

Excessive emails coming from all departments, that could not always get to during business hours.

We appreciate your review and are glad to hear that your time spent on the team was so positive overall! While our drive to make changes in order to continue to be an industry leader and our core value of "candor and openness" can mean a good number of emails coming through on a daily basis, for the sake of smooth operation and a positive employee experience, we're also dedicated to simplifying processes where we can, too, so we'll be sure to pass your comment on this topic along appropriately! Thank you so much for your time spent with us and again for sharing your experiences here!

Pros

Easy to get a job. Perhaps due to their incredibly high employee turn over rate

Cons

They get you at what they are saying is a great company's culture. In reality expect to enslave yourself for below industry's average compensation, while dealing with unreasonable work load at distressed assets they purchase. Both CEO and COO are heavily promoting idea of innovative and open minded company, while remaining the most arrogant people I've met.

As the COO for Venterra Realty, I view one of my primary responsibilities to ensure that all employees who choose to work for Venterra are provided with a great working environment and are treated with the utmost respect and fairness. Because of that, your comments are very disappointing to me. My hope is that no employee in the organization would feel the way you indicate. Understanding that we don’t always get things right the first time, I would like to talk to you about your concerns and understand why your feelings are so different than the vast majority of the employee feedback we receive. A further discussion will give me the opportunity to better understand where things have broken down with your personal situation and attempt to straighten them out. Regarding compensation, we have always strived for our compensation to be comparable with the top companies in our industry. We don’t get this right in every situation, but overall we measure ourselves against industry compensation benchmarks and continue to make adjustments as needed. We also continue to improve the employee experience in non-compensation areas as evidenced in the last year with new initiatives to give all employees a paid day off for their birthday, improving maintenance uniforms, increasing paid time off around holidays and increasing leasing commissions for inside staff. Our long stated goal is that our employees should share in the success achieved by the organization, and we will continue to have that as a key strategic objective. We are far from perfect, but we are trying to continuously improve the employee experience. As such, I would love the opportunity to speak with you as I am sure I could clarify some things from an organization perspective, and I suspect that we could learn a few things from hearing your perspective. I would encourage you to email me or call my cell phone, both of which is available in my internal email signature line. Alternatively, you can arrange a completely anonymous on-line chat through Ethicspoint. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns further.

We appreciate your review, but are unhappy to see that you wouldn't recommend us based on your previous experience on the team. While our expectations for employees are definitely high we aim to offer compensation that is both fair and competitive within the industry. We've recently made a few changes to pay levels across many of our positions to help make sure we are fulfilling this obligation and we will continue to make adjustments in the future. That said, we'll still be sure to pass your thoughts along appropriately, as well! Thank you again so much for taking the time to share them.
