Pros

Fellow drivers and workers are supportive and polite. They can;t do much for you but will give you respect everytime. Many of the staff in Indianapolis are helpful and kind hearted. Even the President thinks of everyone well on a whole basis.

Cons

The management in Chicago expects you to sit in your truck after your 10 hour break from 2, 4 even 6 hours until THEY find a load. Once I sat from early morning til 5 pm in the Indy yard while waitng for my Chicago dispatcher to find a load. If you arrive at your destination after 2 pm, you may have to wait until 9 am the next morning. You have to stay on the dispatcher's back or you'll be forgotten. It's funny though, Venture trucks look good and we make the company look good. But you may get forgotten real easily. The manager in Chicago does not give a rip if you have to sit for hours and will not pay you for sitting after you deliver on time. Don't expect the Chicago management to have loads ready. Oh, and if you take a Sunday night load, expect to drive until Saturday morning. You have to stay on them to get home during the week. They play that 34 hours rule real well. Many a night, I would sit in my truck just a few miles from home while the dispatchers and manager were tucked away warm in their home beds. Be real. Don't expect to get paid for extra wait time in a truck stop.

Pros

There are really no pro's to this company. I guess the only pro would be that it's a paycheck. The only reason that I stay is because of the current economy.

Cons

heath insurance is horrible. We pay way to much for it. Some drivers with kids have had to purchase state funded health care for their kids. No room for advancement. No raises, Pay was cut in February. We were told that we drivers were a cost to the company. They started building improvements in July. We drivers are treated like second class citizens. Dispatchers constantly lying to drivers.
