Pros

Out of all of the companies that I have worked for in the past, Veracross is hands down the best environment to be a part of. From the top down, Veracross is defined by collaboration and integrity. Management is constantly working to add benefits (incredible health plan, full holiday break between Christmas and New Years, gym inside of the office and a virtual trainer for remote employees). Compared to other companies I've worked for, the management team is completely transparent, sets clear expectations, and holds periodic town halls to report on company-wide initiatives and goals. Through COVID, management was constantly evaluating the pandemic and the impact on the employees, and made a continuous effort to adjust flexible work policies, time off, and employee communications aimed at making work life balance a main priority of the company. In the day to day, Veracross at its foundation consists of talented team members who elevate one another and work cross functionally to deliver an exceptional product to our clients. With above market compensation, incredible benefits, a huge focus on work life balance, a strong leadership team, a collaborative and team-oriented culture and an incredible product, Veracross is a one-of-a-kind employer.

Cons

Personally none. I enjoy working for a company with a high-growth, constantly expanding customer base. At times, Veracross is more than just a 9 to 5 because of the effort we put into going the extra mile for our customers. If you are someone who just wants to log on at 9 and log off by 5 every day, it probably isn't a great fit!

Pros

-You can gain a lot of experience in very little time. - Employees and Managers are very kind.

Cons

- For the amount of work, the pay is low - Very hard to get a real promotion, you will be assigned a lot more work, with a very low pay increase - The software in some instances, is almost unsupportable which leaves people in customer facing roles out to dry. - The work is cyclical and in demanding seasons, it can be very stressful, and mentally taxing. In slow seasons, you will be assigned a plethora of meaningless tasks. -Employees are tasked to create FAQs but there are no meaningful metrics to demonstrate their utility, more & more tickets seem be coming in regardless. FAQS are NOT the problem, the product is bad plan and simple. -Executives seem to value profitability over employee welfare. I get it you want to please the private equity firm but what cost? -No 401k match - Insurance is mediocre

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We conduct a market salary analysis versus other tech companies at least twice each year to ensure we pay competitively, and we have provided regular merit increases every year despite the pandemic. Our benefits (medical, dental and vision) are consistently ranked in the top quartile when compared to other companies. With respect to PTO, we evaluate our benefits annually versus market data to ensure we are aligned with other tech companies of our size and geographic location. Our PTO benefits include 3 weeks of PTO plus 14 paid holidays (including the week between Christmas and New Year’s.) We will continue to evaluate our PTO policies and all our benefit offerings to ensure we remain competitive. We encourage you to speak with your manager or our HR team regarding any of these areas so we can provide you with additional detail regarding your specific situation.

Pros

If you are looking for a long-term, stable and fulfilling career then Veracross is the right place for you. I have worked at Veracross for many years in various engineering departments. From my very first year here I have felt at home. Veracross is no longer the small, family-run company that it was when I started but it has not lost that small company feel. No matter who I interact with - whether they are old or new - we all still embody that Veracross spirit. We are here to make a difference, to produce a valuable product, to build meaningful relationships, to share our passion with others. This kind of work environment is what has kept me here for years. Veracross values its employees and continues to put an emphasis on employee growth, satisfaction, and health. Throughout my career here I have always felt a tremendous amount of support in my career goals. I have served in various engineering roles, eventually progressing to engineer manager and team lead. When I first started here I never imagined I'd lead a team of engineers. Through the encouragement and coaching of others I have settled into a manager role. I feel supported by my follow leads and coaches, but not micro-managed. I now get the privilege of supporting and coaching others to fulfill their career goals and pass along some of that same care and attention that was shown to me. Veracross values its clients. One of the most rewarding things for me to see over the years is how we have all embraced the ed-tech space we work in and come to love and be energized by it's challenges. Everyone at Veracross is committed to being the best we can be and delivering the best product that was can for our clients. Each year new projects and challenges arise. As an engineer it is very rewarding to have new problems (and old problems) to continue to solve every day!

Cons

As Veracross has grown we have added a lot of new people and roles to the team. It can be hard to keep up with all the new hires. I miss knowing everyones name and what they do here. We are making efforts to share details on new hires, new roles, role changes, etc but it will probably still continue to be a struggle. As someone who has been here for a while I want to know every new face that joins the team! Not necessarily a con, depending on how you look at it but Veracross is a rapidly moving, constantly adapting, continuously growing company to work for. We strive to put the best product forward so there are periods of time throughout the year that things can feel a little crazy. Lots to do, important work to deliver. But this does have a pro too - I'm never bored or looking for work. Whether you are just starting here or been here forever; there is always a way to contribute something of value.
