Pros

Nice people and you knew what to expect

Cons

Seems that management continues to push out some of the moe experienced, but good, staff. It's pretty deliberate and very disheartening

Okay Company to Start

Pros

Great company to start with as a stepping stone for experience, especially for entry level but that's it.

Cons

- Zero Growth. Nepotism/favoritism is very apparent in this company. You'll have people with no skill or experience in roles that require it. They hire and/or promote their kids, relatives, buddies rather than the ones who deserve it. - Management is very toxic and does not know how to manage, as there is no transparency from them. They'll find ways to cover up their own mistakes by blaming someone and suddenly firing them for no reason. There is also no disciplinary actions taken in place for things that shouldn't have been overlooked. It's completely non existent. You'll never know what you did wrong and then you're gone. Management seems like they can't resolve things properly when conflict happens. - Culture is bad. They only like those that fit in with them. You either roll with it or you don't, otherwise you'll be isolated and disgruntled. In general, you will see a lot of brown nosing. - Extremely underpaid/not properly compensated for your work. You'll be receiving either 1/3 or 2/3 of what you're actually doing.

Pros

Amazing people, general flexibility with WFH. Was able to transfer teams pretty smoothly. Work/life balance is generally good.

Cons

Was great until my 'division' was fully bought out by Verisk. We used to have amazing company/team events, now you essentially have to get on your knees and beg to the higher ups to have a small team event due to 'budgets' which limit the actual fun or capacity of the event. Morale is LOW. People don't receive any sort of recognition for 5 yrs at the company any longer, we're expected to be in the office 2 days a week while there is no offer to compensate for transportation (when WFH wasn't a 'thing' I knew of other companies paying for the entirety of employee's train passes). The holiday party last year was at 12 PM on a Wednesday in our cafeteria area and to boot they ran out of food. Desk hoteling makes you feel very replaceable and not cared for by the company at all. Everything is political, more higher ups with no tech experiencing absorbing roles of upper management who were smart enough to get out before it gets worse. All of our benefits from prior to the buyout are slowly disappearing or getting worse.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns. We sincerely appreciate when employees share their feedback and are thrilled that you recommend Verisk. We love to hear our team-members say they work with “amazing people” (we agree 😊 ) and that you have good work/life balance. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters both professional growth and a positive work experience. Concerning recognition, we believe in the importance of acknowledging and rewarding hard work, and we actively review our recognition programs to ensure they align with the expectations and needs of our valued team members. We also hear your concerns about office expectations and the shift in management dynamics. We are aiming for a balance that respects both individual preferences and the overall needs of the organization. Your feedback about desk hoteling is noted, and we will explore ways to enhance the sense of belonging and value for each team member. We encourage you to reach out to your immediate supervisor or your HRBP on additional concerns you would like to discuss. Thanks, again, for recommending Verisk. We value our employees and strive to create a culture where our team-members can thrive
