Pros

Slackers do well because you're not a threat to the powers that be.

Cons

Attempting to pursue a career will get you snuffed out by greedy self serving Directors who's agenda is solely to climb the corporate latter. They have no desire to see you excel. Many have sacrificed their youth only to find themselves no better off than when they started. They will only outsource your job as soon as feasible. However they fall asleep each night counting their money.

Pros

BENEFITS: *Medical was great, however, dental and vision sucked *401K match up to 6% *50% discount off of your personal phone account with VZW plus a 35% discount on most accessories

Cons

My god, there are so many but I'll try to summarize: Background: I worked in an office as a BAE so all of my experiences are from the business side and not retail. *OFFICE POLITICS: It's not how you perform, it's who you know. Like other reviews I've read, there's definitely a so called "Good Ole Boy Network" going on. As long as you are young (under say 26), dress nice, and hang out with the sales managers and Associate Directors after work at a bar drinking, you'll be promoted fairly quick. I personally witnessed this happen on 4 different occasions. Also, if you personally know one of the sales managers or AD's before interviewing, you'll be promoted quick after getting your initial job. I witnessed this on 2 different occasions. *COUNTLESS CHANGES TO COMMISSION STRUCTURE: If you've been working at VZW for a long period of time, you know what I'm talking about. It's hard to understand the new payouts because they change every 6 months or so. It's also harder to hit your quota. Simply put, you are working harder than ever before for roughly 30-40% less commission payout.

Pros

Healthy competition, excellent pay, other performance incentives, tuition reimbursement, excellent investment options in 401k with 6% company match, excellent benefits, paid and encouraged overtime

Cons

Not a lot of mobility unless you are a top performer in the region, many reps use shady sales tactics and are not honest, HIGH amount of pressure, poor management, lots of negativity, job security very low, terrible work/life balance (retail hours), lots of favoritism, I must say again POOR management... I wonder how some of the managers got into the position they did.
