Pros

I love working for Victoria's Secret. The company is very well organized with streamlined, efficient business operations. The company has a lot of brand power and has achieved success in commanding control in the industry. Victoria's Secret has trully established itself in a niche market and will not show any signs of declining any time soon. The brand itself exudes a lifestyle that makes any woman feel fabulous and appreciated every day. The company really stands behind every product they produce, and ensure that nothing is put out to the sales floor until it has reached perfection. Victoria's Secret really knows their products and their client base thoroughly, and is constantly seeking to improve the in-store client experience. The company treats their employees very well because they know we are their key to success. The company is also very generous with employee gratis and option to buy products. This allows associates to try the products for free or for a very low price to provide personal testimony to the clients.

Cons

The pay is not fantastic. Although it is pretty standard for a retail store, the wages are relatively low for standard of living. The company is very good about giving you very small incremental raises over long periods of time. However, it is not easy to earn performance based bonuses or pay increases which takes away from performance incentives. There is also not much opportunity for advancement. Within a given Victoria;s Secret store, the highest position is store manager. There are also district and regional managers etc., however there is very little opportunity for advancement within the company from the stores. More opportunities exist from Victoria's Secret Direct.

Pros

I would say that some of the best reason's to work at Victoria's Secret would be getting all of the free bras / fragrances that do come out. I get along with most of the people that I work with, and we are somewhat like a family.

Cons

With a staff of mostly females there is gossip. At my store there is a constant change in managment at least every year or so. The associates are treated very poorly, expecially people that have been there for a while. We are forced to push credit cards, and sales on customers, which eventually leads many of them to feel rushed, or like we only want their money (which I have been told by many customers who come back to see me). I was promoted but was paid the same as some associates if not less. Management if VERY poorly trained, where there is times associates know more about what is going on than management. As much as they say your hours are based on your performance, that isn't correct at all.

Pros

The best reasons to work for Victoria's Secret Stores are the discounts, free merchandise, and pretty environment. Some of the customers are there on an almost daily basis and it's fun to talk to them and present the products. Getting to try out the new merchandise is fun and helpful in selling the merchandise.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Victoria's Secret Stores are having to force credit card sign and merchandise upon the customers without any extra compensation, management didn't appreciate the hard work that was put forward to meet their sales goals, having to pick up after some messy, inconsiderate customers. Many of the training sessions are a waste of time.
