Pros

Minimal. The people who do the day to day work are amazing. The DBSU classes provide valuable skill development for all roles. Danaher Business Systems has amazing tools, if used the correct way with support of a leader who understands the concepts and culture of DBS.

Cons

Leadership provides zero support and drives a siloed environment. All teams are out for themselves. Business is metric driven, and all metrics work against each other - which in turn drives backstabbing behaviors just to reach your target. Around Q3 the leadership team starts to push teams to the extreme to meet the bonus. Why wouldn't they? Their bonus structure is much of their overpriced salaries. While the rest of the work force barely sees a drop in the bucket with the bonus received. Their constant message is, “If you don’t provide the results, then we are going to have to tell people they won’t be receiving their bonuses.” It’s presented as a threat, where the real threat is to the leadership teams bonus. Work life balance is non-existent. Prepare to be at the office for 10-12 hours a day, go home and take calls late at night and early morning, answer emails within minutes of receiving them; eat, sleep, breathe Videojet. Anything less is unacceptable. Working from home is not a concept that is grasped by the leadership team. If you are not at your desk, you are not working. None of the employees are treated as the adults they are. How do you give people jobs with responsibilities if they will never be given the opportunity to get out from under the micro-managing magnifier? When employees leave for other positions outside of Danaher it is said that they have “escaped”. This culture drives burn out, frustration and turns employees into a shell of their former self. Those who stay long would be good candidates for a Stockholm syndrome study.
