Viking Electric works hard to ensure that our compensation remains competitive based on all market factors. Part of that compensation includes a strong benefits package which does include tuition reimbursement for full-time AND part-time associates. All Viking Electric associates have the same access to internal promotion opportunities through our internal career website and internal job posting emails. These job postings list required skills/experience so associates can be aware of the position requirements before applying.

Pros

Great if your salary, bad if you're hourly. Free coffee and water.

Cons

If your white you'll go up the ladder pretty quick. If your a person of color you will not go up the ladder because of too many false promise. They will keep a close eyes on you and will report you behind your back. The open door policy? Most time they close their door and turn off their light. Most managers are never in their office because they take long lunches or go home early without telling anyone. Too many useless meetings to accomplish nothing but added work. Most of the good people left already including good managers. The managers that stay are the bad one and only care about their pay. They cut bonuses for all employees but they keep the managers bonuses, not cool.

Viking Electric is constantly striving to be a company that reflects the communities in which we operate and we know that there is still work that is needed to accomplish this goal. If these issues had been brought to the attention of Viking Electric HR/Leadership during your employment they would have been investigated and addressed immediately. To help us improve, we would encourage the author of this review to reach out to a member of the HR team so that they can address this feedback directly.
