Pros
They provide a great service to those individual families looking for their loved ones to remain in the home and be taken care of. I was able to work a lot of hours in between my regular shifts and the clients are just adorable. The staff was very nice and personable when I interviewed and was hired. the Scheduler was very informative and explained the schedules she had available and I was able to choose what I wanted to work. Unlike many companies, they actually called my references and asked about me so it shows that they do their due diligence when hiring.
Cons
I feel the pay should be based on experience, not a flat fee. Though they are non medical, you have others from medical backgrounds working PT and if a situation arises, out of moral obligation as well as legally, we will have to react in such a manner, but you're not being paid for it. I have never seen a company that will make you wait for the convenience of having your check direct deposited in your bank. I have also NEVER heard of a company that will charge you to deposit your check in your account. From a HR prospective, its so much easier to have direct deposit done instead of having everyone break their schedules every other week to come and get money they have already worked for. The most humiliating and shocking situation is the fact that if pay day falls on a holiday, they will hold your check until the NEXT business day...a Monday(which is legal) instead of being thoughtful and caring and pay you the day before like 99% of other companies. It is a huge issue to have to leave your other jobs to come get a paycheck-direct deposit service does not break the bank and then once you can get it, you're paying for it!
