Pros

Some fellow employees are nice, some customers are nice, and the store is kept very clean.

Cons

It's an intentional policy that they do not have in place an Employee Handbook. Higher management appears to revel in those "gray areas."

Great pay, excellent benefits(401k, med, dental, vision insurance, paid holidays, paid vacations) Great customers. Promotes quickly(both pro and con)

Cons

Working 3 weekends a month, TESS is a terrible scheduling system! You will close then turn around and be there at 7am. The turnover rate is unbelievable. Very sexist company. They have a high class mindset with low class management (Not skilled, no previous mgmt experience) It's very often that associates know more than store managers do about product.

Beautiful stores, good fellow employees Great to start a buying career here Stable, conservative company. Well-funded. Growing, adding 1-2 new stores each year.

Cons

Rules rules rules. There is no room for individuality, no room for trying something new and innovative. They are missing the human element and trying to make the business as computer, robot-driven as possible. There is a spooky "Stepford Wives" element to this company. There is a very high turnover rate, hence lots of young people in management. Agree with other reviewers--even at corporate. Not a lot of maturity--old fashion, yes. There are no managers that are inspiring role models.
