      Pros

      Meet new people and the Vons I worked at was in a neighborhood, so a lot of friendly long time customers. They will work around your hours "most" of the time. A form of health insurance, though with obamacare who knows if it is worth it.

      Cons

      Pay is bad, almost no room for improvement. This is a job when you are in high school or going to college and nothing else. Only was a career for people before the strikes.

      Pros

      It is very easy to get promoted in your store. If you work at a busy location, shifts go by incredibly fast due to the amount of work there is to do. You can get overtime after 9 hours. You are guaranteed 16 hours a week minimum.

      Cons

      Management does NOT care and WILL overwork you for little pay. Customers are almost as rude as careless management. You are forced to join a union and pay monthly dues. My boss literally did not let you call in sick, fired you if you did. Schedules are very inconsistent, not a good job if you are a student because they will schedule you when they want to regardless of your availability.

      Pros

      My co-workers were great, my bosses were kind, they gave me a job and I advanced with little prior experience.

      Cons

      The corporate policies are awful. No one besides managers get full time hours, raises are an insulting 10 cents, they expect you to be available at any & ask times, while also expecting you to live on 24 hours a week of work (at $8/hr).
