Upper and lower management decisions remain very secretive affecting day to day operations particularly for people who aspire to climb the "corporate ladder". Overworked lower level employees, especially since round two of lay-offs. Sales staff remains allowed to run amok and account to no one for their time or dealings.

It is had to advance one's career at Vulcan, There is a great deal of nepotism in management, and lots of poor mid-level managers. If you don't get a promotion early in your career you probably won't get one at all. One particular department was so bad they couldn't fill jobs internally. Yet the manager was allowed to sustain a hostile work environment despite repeated complaints from subordinates.
