Pros

I have worked for the company for just over 14 years. It has been a wonderful company to work for and grow with. The company has also always provided great benefits. They really care about their employees.

Cons

Still a little behind on what they pay their employees but it is getting better. Also they need to work more on how they train their employees, mostly new hires.

I think you are right on with regards to your constructive feedback. We are working on both the pay and the training. The Company does care about our employees, life is short and it is all about the relationships we build with others. As you know I hope we can build a team of people that love what they do and are rewarded for it. Thank you

Pros

Some branches have supportive staff and managers. They’re mostly professional and kind. The company is client based and most of the time, they’re very supportive and centered around the personal relationship with their clients.

Cons

Rules are 100% not enforced equally. If you’re not your manager’s favorite, small or petty rules that are usually “bent” by other employees are only enforced on you, and it’s usually a huge deal compared to how the situation actually is. I put a longer than average notice of resignation in, and on my last day of employment I showed up and they told me they’re “letting me go”, then proceeded to tell other employees and management that I was “let go”. The company is definitely profit driven, which is a given for any company that isn’t non profit, but it goes to the point of reprimanding employees when potential clients choose not to go with the company. Also, they shorted my time card almost a whole day of pay. This also happened with another former employee. Again, if you’re not their favorite, you’re most likely going to get the the short end of the stick on most things. In my experience, management is pretty fake.

I am sorry to hear your thoughts on how rules are applied, that is not our policy and does not live up to our "be nice" expectation. Please come see me or call me to discuss your perspective. Thank you

Pros

This company has reasonable goals for it's employees. The work standard is good and also based on sound and ethical business. Unlike some of the horror stories I've heard about many other financial companies, Washington Federal plays fair. The incentive to meet business goals is there, without the fear tactic. I've always felt appreciated here, which gives you more of a reason to perform well. There is plenty of room for advancing as well, and the culture here is fun...Oh and they are closed on the weekends!

Cons

Like any office job you're in a building all day not much physical activity.

Thank you for the feedback, WAFD is a great place to work because of people like you serving out clients every day. We are working on doing more on weekends but that is also a hardship on employees and work life balance. We need to find the right balance
