Pros

You don't have to work weekends - Monday -Friday hours.

Cons

Unorganized, do not value employees, policies & procedures unclear, manager cannot make a decision on her own. Many HR flaws and lawsuits waiting to happen. Pay is horrible, when filling out time card you do not put your actual hours worked, and if you do it is sent back to you to put the hours you are told to put in. Was told if you have over-time you can comp it that week. Many times I had over-time that was not fairly comp to me. I have been in banking for 20 years, and this was the strangest place I have ever worked. I can go on-and-on, but my advice is simple...RUN the opposite direction and seek other employment! I had 3 other job offers on the table when I took this job, total regret! I have 20 years of lending experience, and was told they did not have any openings for lending, but really wanted to utilize my management experience. I took the job thinking ok I will move into lending. My first day on the job I was informed that I could not take another position for 1 year. The worst career move of my life! I have moved on to a higher paying job with a reputable financial institution as a Branch Manager doing what I love...selling and lending!

Pros

I work at an office with friendly people, and the work environment is fairly relaxed. I get a good amount of vacation time, and the insurance is affordable.

Cons

The pay is extremely low!! I am a CSR, (basically a bank teller), but I do more work along the lines of a personal banker, and I get paid horribly low for being with the company so many years. There is a severe lack of promotions within the company locally. I am at the bottom of the totem pole, but I seriously feel like I do more work than the Personal Banker and Branch Manager we have here. The pressure also falls on us to expand client relationships, and get new client relationships. The CSRs really carry a lot of work on their shoulders, but we are not compensated accordingly.

Pros

Monday-Friday work schedule is nice for those who don't

Cons

We were TOLD by Human Resources, to log onto this website and make a positive post about Washington Federal about a year ago and encouraged from time to time to do so - though I am not a puppet for this company since I owe them nothing. Management promises raises and promotions and doesn't happen. Instead they will provide you with reasons why you aren't ready - and then never give you any mentor-ship on how to get better. Company just added a who slew of job titles to make it harder to climb the ladder, as well making you do extra work without receiving the pay. You will do personal banker and relationship banker roles as a base Teller at this company and get paid close to minimum wage. Literally.
