Pros

Its all about Customer Service. Pharmacy is what keeps Walgreens driven.

Cons

The work can be really repetitive at times because the industry is retail. Employees are on their feet most of the time. Dealing with customers all around the clock. There are some Labor work like carrying heavy boxes or totes. People go their because they need their medicine, so there might be a lot of people coughing in your face.

Pros

Only a few things were decent about working at Walgreens including the title of the job looks more prestigious than it is, the set schedules, and the occasional friendly customers.

Cons

There is no room for career growth as a technician unless you go back to school to become an actual pharmacist. They don't care about you as a person, but rather only their profits. You are exposed to sick people all of the time and the goal is to help the sick customers, but if you are sick yourself you don't get the same treatment. Managers were very often on power trips and were not concerned with the well being of employees. Customers were often very rude and would get mad at you when their insurance wouldn't cover something. Any time something went wrong, customers and management would blame the lower levels.

Pros

Jobs are always available at Walgreens some of the staff is tremendous - wonderful people to work with

Cons

Absolutely NO work life balance as an asst manager, you work mostly nights and you are nothing but a glorified stock boy. Walgreens forces people to transfer to other stores without even consulting the employee about the feasibility of the move. You either transfer or leave. There is no regard for the safety of their employees you are expected to report to work even when the governor declares a statewide state of emergency. If you have chdren, forget working here as you are not allowed to have a life outside the store. Assistants took a huge paycut. Most found out accidentally through email. There aS no advance notice.
