Pros
Great Mass spec divison in the UK R & D'ing innovative products consistently which serve the scientific world well. Software is by far the best I have seen on any system out there. Employees are generally very loyal and it is not uncommon to see many of them stay for 15-20 yrs plus.
Cons
Disconnected Senior management. Questioning any rules or company policies are sure-fire ways of being targeted for employment termination. Almost impossible to be promoted even though prospects are "sold" to new employees as realistic target. Profit before science Performance reviews are done purely by excel spreadsheets. Very subjective at times. Actual competence on the job is secondary over how well you do your paperwork Bonuses are non existent.
