Pros
if you're a scientist, the potential is great - given lots of freedom to explore personal growth while on company time.
Cons
Very little emphasis placed on functions/organizations other than scientific. Lack of respect for those without advanced degrees, science degrees and the like. Dysfunction between organizations that can be paralyzing to getting things done Lots of 'legacy issues' - people, ways of doing things (project management, process, etc.) - not enough open minds to engage for forward thinking discussions and brainstorming.
