Pros

Water is one of the leading manufactures of test equipment in the medical, chemistry and pharmaceutical industries. The senior management is on top of the current issues in the industry and is competent in producing a cost effective, competitive and quality product. The company values its employees and you are always made to feel as though you are part of a team and that the work you do matters in the grand scheme of things. The work / family balance is great and when one needs time off it is usually not an issue. I would reccomend anyone seeing a job there to seriously consider it.

Cons

There were a few downsides while working at Waters. At times the duties of my job were laborious and time consuming. Some things that have been done a certain way for years are expected to always be done that way, at times when I wanted to try a new approach I was shot down and was told to just do it the way it has always been done. I found thisna little discoruoaging and annoying at times. Some of the managers spend too much time playing on the computer and chatting, it becomes a pain when you need to approach them for assistance on a project.

Pros

The quality of products provides for steady work. If the quality improved, the constant crisis management would not be needed, and the advertising hype of products would be more believable by the scientific community.

Cons

Discrepancy in remuneration levels. Browbeat culture towards employees. Bad employees are moved off the low-paid frontline and put into positions of management.
