Pros

Leadership is highly focused on peer groups and team building outings. They allow you to learn at your own pace. Working from home two days a week is beneficial.

Cons

Benefit package is limited. There is no matched 401k contribution unless you have at least 5 years vested, then it is only half of up to 4%. Paid time off is accumulated at a rate of .625 hours per pay period. That includes sick and vacation time. Although you do get 8 holidays per year there is only one floating holiday per year, and one volunteer day that doesn't roll over to the next year. Leadership should not over complicate simple matters. Why would it be so difficult for someone who is a tram lead to accept a client request to speak with a supervisor? Training should include benefits and usefulness of upsell opportunities.

We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the culture and our focus on strong teams that we’ve worked so hard to build here at Waystar. Thank you for the feedback on the areas in which we can improve, those will be shared with the appropriate leaders to review and consider. Please note that our 401k vesting is over three years and a portion is vested every year, starting after year one.

Negative Shifts Lately

Pros

There was a time when Waystar felt like a place built around people, purpose, and shared goals. Teams were collaborative, leadership was visible, and there was genuine excitement about the work being done. Colleagues were smart, kind, and motivated to make an impact.

Cons

In the past couple of years, the culture has shifted. What once felt authentic and values driven now feels corporate and cold. The mantra of “best life always” rings hollow when paired with messaging that glorifies work life blend over work life balance, a subtle expectation that work and personal time are constantly overlapping, leaving little room to truly disconnect. Values are still spoken of often and once formed the company’s foundation, but they rarely guide decisions anymore, especially when efficiency and profit are at stake. Who needs kindness when making and saving money is the priority? For anyone joining now, it’s a stable company, but one that has gone public and traded its heart for speed, approval, and numbers.

Pros

Hybrid schedule that won't be around for long I imagine.

Cons

Company went public and is now continuously making changes that are detrimental to the employees. Upper management thinks of themselves as gods. Very little warning when changes are made giving us little time to adjust. Commission structure is a joke they state that it's 8%, but you only making 4% of sales for the month the contract was sold and then 4% a year after the contract has been signed. If the client backs out of contract before the end of year you are required to pay back Waystar. If you leave the company at any point or change departments you do not get paid your commission for the previous month or the second half of your "8%". Partner systems that work with Waystar actively promote protentional clients to not work with us. Project managers at Waystar will convince sold clients to back out of deals causing you to lose sales. KPIs are unattainable and no one ever hits them, but they will get on you for not hitting them if they don't like you. JUST STAY AWAY,
