      Pros

      There was a time when Waystar felt like a place built around people, purpose, and shared goals. Teams were collaborative, leadership was visible, and there was genuine excitement about the work being done. Colleagues were smart, kind, and motivated to make an impact.

      Cons

      In the past couple of years, the culture has shifted. What once felt authentic and values driven now feels corporate and cold. The mantra of “best life always” rings hollow when paired with messaging that glorifies work life blend over work life balance, a subtle expectation that work and personal time are constantly overlapping, leaving little room to truly disconnect. Values are still spoken of often and once formed the company’s foundation, but they rarely guide decisions anymore, especially when efficiency and profit are at stake. Who needs kindness when making and saving money is the priority? For anyone joining now, it’s a stable company, but one that has gone public and traded its heart for speed, approval, and numbers.
