Great Company Prior to Merger

Pros

Great culture and laid back atmosphere prior to merger. People were promoted based on their hard work and dedication to the company but not since the merger. People are now promoted via nepotism and who they know. The department I was in let people go who had been in the industry for many years and hired replacement who did not know a single thing about the healthcare industry. Leadership puts on a good show for the new hires but does not care one bit about their employees, especially legacy employees. Learned a lot about the industry.

Cons

After the merger there was a lot of vague talk about 'opportunities' for legacy employees that never happened. Leadership does not care about employees, especially lower level ones. Leadership put in place people who do not know what they are doing. They have no prior experience in the industry or even in the department they work in. They are hiring the wrong people to be leaders and it will definitely have a negative effect on the company. Turnover is insanely high. Below market values in all roles. Can double your salary by just leaving. Nepotism - rules only apply to some.

Pros

The benefits are not bad, and the handling of the global pandemic was admirable. The corporate values as written are not bad.

Cons

Their business strategy to acquire companies instead of utilizing the engineering team they have results in dead projects, high turnover and no opportunity for career growth. Companies that are acquired should expect a short honeymoon of talks of integration to eventually join the graveyard of product offerings. They constantly hire for new teams but never back fill existing positions.

Pros

Great place to start. There's tons of entry level jobs (mostly due to turnover; they claim it's a performance culture, but I'd argue it's more of a churn and burn culture, and the numbers support that argument). They picked some good corporate values.

Cons

While they picked the right corporate values, I haven't seen the organization and it's leaders embody those values. They clearly care more about their "valuation".
