Pros

A great UK team to work with at the operational level.

Cons

The HR department has no skill set what so ever. Having made the entire (UK only?) workforce redundant a day before salaries went out - no notification, just a 10 minute conference call to say stop working as of now, they then paid and then withdrew our salaries the next day. So, no pay, no redundancy, no notice.

What will it take to get management to listen?

Pros

Involvement in a wide range of tasks, working with some talented colleagues

Cons

This review, along with the others which don't sing Wejo's praises, will be dismissed as an aggrieved employee but in reality it reflects the opinions of many in the business. There are significant issues in the business, namely communication. Nobody knows what the strategic objectives are one day to the next, projects are started and stopped at the drop of a hat but none of this is ever communicated. It makes it difficult to feel you are doing a good job when you get crucial information 3rd hand. There have been multiple successful rounds of investment, great! However, these are followed by ill thought through plans and money wasted over and over again followed by yet more redundancies. It is frankly disgusting to see colleagues and friends lose their jobs every few months with no acknowledgement of the impact that has on them and on those of us left to pick up the pieces. The people remaining are working like dogs to compensate for the staff that were let go along with inefficient systems and processes, battling with no time or money to improve them. It is simply not sustainable and morale is extremely low. Every deadline is yesterday with no concept that we just can't keep up the pace when there are so few of us. Considering there are so few employees left after the last cull, you might expect senior management would be more visible. In reality, they are shut away in their own little world raising yet more funds to squander. I certainly would not advise taking a job at Wejo currently and I wish I could say differently, it has such potential but will never reach it with the current state of the leadership team.

Avoid at all costs

Pros

Good people and relatively good pay

Cons

If you're considering joining Wejo in any capacity, please take note of the reviews on here (not the ones that are quite obviously planted by HR). A toxic workplace, with unreasonable targets and a senior leadership team that argues continuously to the point of the company failing. I've never worked for a CEO with less presence, less charisma and less drive in my life. The share price truly does reflect reality and without significant change it will continue to plummet. If I could rate it 0 I would.
