Pros
- Very talented and driven employees - Socially conscious - Pay is good compared to other industries, but not when compared to bigger consulting firms - Great place to learn and grow if you take charge of how you spend your time
Cons
- Leadership is weak- most are older white men. All but one executive came from Arther Anderson. They have not handled the post-pandemic environment well, cannot articulate a vision or value proposition that resonates with employees or clients because it's undeveloped, meaningless work-salad. -Leaders don't seek outside opinions from their internal experts unless they've worked at West Monroe for at least 10 years, which has created a closed minded echo-chamber for strategic decision making. - Leaders say they are open to change and new ideas, but let their fear of change prevent meaningful progress - Line leaders are empowered to make uninformed, rash decisions and expect shared services teams to "make it work" and clean up the mess. - There are Toxic elements to the work environment. - Speaking up is encouraged, then punished. Leaders play favorites with employees and don't even try to hide it. - Very political work environment that include backstabbing and lying to get ahead. - Reduction in Force carried out every year since 2001. - CEO does not value most shared services functions. - Consultants are under constant stress. Either they are worked to the point of burn out, or remain unstaffed, sometimes up to a year. - People First value was dropped causing a significant and immediate negative affect on the employee experience. - You will be overloaded with work, despite promises of work/life balance. Then be blamed if something doesn't get done. Leaders will throw you under the bus if something doesn't look good for them, rather than having the spine to advocate for their team members
