Pros

The pay was commensurate with the job title and responsibilities.

Cons

The company culture is a charade from the top down and as a result throughout each division offices. There was no accountability for not delivering the highest levels of customer service.

Pros

- Smart colleagues to work with - Good work life balance on most teams

Cons

- Culture - it’s beyond dead. It’s now in its Lord of the Flies stage, and Piggy doesn’t have the conch. - Leadership - some truly bad directors+ that had no business being in the roles they had. They have no ability for self reflection, always have a reason to blame someone or something else for their failings. - Work - some decent clients and work definitely exist, but the quality of both is really suffering. - Performance management- They are promoting some pretty terrible people, especially in the Chicago office, while everyone else has been subjected to horrible utilization targets. - Turnover - Outside of layoffs and mass quitting, a large portion of the exec leadership team retired or left after the Dell investment and esop payout. This left remaining management unprepared to handle running a midsize firm in a challenging environment.

Pros

Like any consulting firm, you get comfortable with frameworks, project management, and grow communication skills.

Cons

Partners and senior leadership regularly talk about women as if they are beneath them - one partner referred to the women consultants around him as his secretaries. My office performed a women’s listening campaign where concerning examples of mistreatment were uncovered and then leadership subsequently buried all of the comments and had zero follow up. Every time someone would suggest recruiting from a school other than Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, or USC it was turned down, which means the firm has absolutely zero diversity. Women in my office were told they had to do favors for partners in order to get preferred staffing on projects or to know what was going on in the firm. The ones guilty of these transgressions keep getting promoted and are now leading the firm.
