      Good place, but undergoing a lot of change

      Pros

      The people are generally nice, and Richmond VA is a good place to live. Also, we are moving into a brand new office building, next to a river, with pleasant walking trails to a adjacent island.

      Cons

      We are going through a lot of changes in the central office right now. The whole accounting and administration function is being outsourced to Manila, and the IT functions will soon be outsourced to India. Morale is pretty low among affected employees, and it is not good even among employees who will not be directly affected.

      Pros

      MWV provides an ethical and safe environment for employees to pursue and grow in there fields of interest. There commitment to training and personal growth exceeded my expectations.

      Cons

      Constant changes in it's leadership and direction has many customers and employees wondering about it's future commitment to the packaing sectors.

      Pros

      The people are good to work with. Most of the managers are thoughtful individuals who have not forgotten that they are human.

      Cons

      We are going through some downsizing and outsourcing (2009), so the jobs are not as secure as one would hope. There is very little structure here. People who are very self-directed will enjoy this place, but others will feel abandonded.
