Pros

Orientation was good and very thorough.

Cons

No pay ! Pulled o.d. for them did not get paid. They played the paperwork game, ie. We didn't receive your paperwork, resend and we'll pay you next week. HA ! Mean while I'm loosing my home and my family is doing without me or the money.

Pros

It used to be a great company, almost like family. After the old man died, it went to hell in a hand basket.

Cons

Management functions on an atmosphere of intimidation on one hand and who's in the boys/girls club on the other. Employee who really care and are vocal regarding issues that would improve the company are considered trouble makers. Lack of ethics, which rolls from the top down.

Pros

They will take you with little experience, they don't even require a road test. They will feed, house and pay you during orientation.

Cons

Driver trainers are angry broken people and will be personally offended with mistakes you make and many you don't make, like you wanted to make them or you did it just to anger them. Then they will berate you nonstop until it causes you to make more mistakes. Then threaten to fail you if you don't have a sunny disposition while they are doing this. .The company says they want you to report safety issues but use your best judgement there. I don't know how anyone makes any money, no one knows where empty trailers are and they give you loads that are already late so you spent 24 hours on a parking lot waiting for a new dock appointment. Shippers have lost respect for the company, I saw a memo on one of their whiteboards that said "give your old loads to Western". They take advantage of nice agreeable drivers and give them the crap runs because they know they won't complain. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION DO THAT.
