Pros

There has been nothing good to say about this company and I have only been there 3 weeks in total.

Cons

They refuse to listen to drivers. Don't like answering phones. Night and weekend dispatch have no clue what is going on. Poor equipment. Shop mechanic 20 years behind current technology. Don't pay bonus as promised.

Pros

Have nothing notable to say

Cons

Lies about home time- I get one night at home after being out 5 weeks. Cheats drivers injured on job out of money- broke my foot and had to stay in Nashville Tn. and do light duty to have a paycheck of any kind and still had to perform tasks requiring walking and standing on my feet. Was paid a total of $ 19 by workmans comp for 6 weeks of downtime. Steals from its drivers- when I was injured company reassigned my truck and rhey cleaned my personal property out of ir. They took ratchet binders, coil edge potectors rhat belonged to me and refuse to return them or compensate me for them. Cheats drivers out of tarp pay- $15 for full 8' drop lumber tarp. In addition, has little concern for drivers with health issues tarping in sub-zero or +90 degree weather by virtue of the established pay for tarping. I used to like Western alot but now am ashamed to admit I drive for them and as soon as possible I will leave them.

Pros

Will get you dispatch loads and constantly keep you moving down the road.

Cons

I have started my career with Western Express and they expect you to stick to their suggested route. I try to stick to their routing the best i can but a few times their routing is useless. I have followed routing not updated as to construction areas were the road will be closed to all traffic or commercial vehicles. Routing will also sometimes but you on unauthorized roads and make it hard to get around them. Overall my perception of the company is that they only care if the load is delivered on time. I had hit adverse weather and winds blowing my truck around and they did not care that i pulled off the road for safety reasons "unbelievable". I am looking into other companies that have a little more professionalism and pay for your miles driven instead of barely surviving especially when you are given short runs consistantly and they cancel your dispatch on you because they can not get the right customer pickup number to you and can not pick up the phone and call them while you sit at the shipper for six hours. My truck has problems a cracked windshield, air leak in the tractor and eats a gallon of oil a week now. And my truck is now 4000 miles over service and asked to be routed back to the terminal to get thier truck fixed. I have yet to be at the terminal and they keep sending me other places so if thier truck breaks and t;hey find it on the side of the road its their problem not mine i did what i was suppose to do the get the problem fixed i got blown off, i will walk away from this company when the truck becomes to unsafe to operate or dies on the road. I have extreme doubts on Western Express's professionalism all i have seen is that they only care about frieght.
