Pros

In my particular department, they've always been very lenient with time. Very understanding when the kids started daycare and caused me to have to adjust my start time. After a year, my benefits now include one week paid vacation, one paid day off for my anniversary day, one paid day off for my birthday, and four personal days.

Cons

The only challenge would be dealing with angry drivers over the phone. But that's inevitable. Understandable, they're out on the road all the time.

Pros

Do not have anything good really to say about working at Western Express. They are not even a good entry level job for new drivers.

Cons

On the flatbed side- no leadership. No accountability. No respect. Pay scale is THE LOWEST in the trucking industry and many companies offer a starting pay equal to that of drivers who have given 3 or more years- and it is NOT based on experiance. Millions spent on automatic trucks that are inappropriate for OTR flatbed work and absolutely nothing spent on its fleet of damaged, worn out and outdated trailers. There is no open door policy with management and most drivers have never seen anyone in upper management. Driver input is not encouraged. I would advise anyone entering the flatbed business to look elsewhere. There are many opportunities with other companies that have good equipment and respectable entry level pay if one takes the time to look.

Pros

There aren't any.The best part of working for Western Express was the day I left.I'm being totally honest when I say,STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Cons

Lies and low pay is what you can expect.I've heard driver managers actually making bets on when a particular driver was going to quit,
