Pros

Juice press, you will work with some very intelligent people (but mostly immature, conniving, disrespectful people who have been there too long that the company doesn't know what to do with them so they get new positions/titles to keep them quiet). The CEO is really the only thing the company has going for them. He is the reason people stay even when their managers and co-workers are unbearable. CEO is smart, ingenuitive, and the kind of person you wait your entire life to work for. Unfortunately, the rest of the clan will bring his greatness down.

Cons

FAVORITISM: (1) Not the manager's favorite? Your life will be miserable. Don't kiss up to your manager? Your life will be miserable. Try to tell HR your manager is treating you poorly, ignoring you, demanding that you provide 'support' for the two days a week you leave the office for lunch when his favorite people take two-hour lunches every day? Your life will be miserable. Etc. Etc. (2) Each year the manager's favorite employees are picked to go on an all-expense-paid trip. It is supposed to be performance-based, but it is a constant loop of the same people and no opportunity for anyone else. TOXIC ENVIRONMENT: Working with different groups was like going to war. Having to ask questions or even attempt to work on projects together was a horrible experience. Went to HR and eventually CFO to ask for advice and was basically told to go away. Never before have I experienced such toxic, unprofessional, delusional people. You'd think working in New York City, you could find much better talent. Zero opportunity for advancement unless - of course - you are a favorite.
