Pros

Amazing Benefits. Decent Travel Policy. Job Security.

Cons

Not Much Vacation. Middle/Low Salary Range. Employee Engagement. "Figure It Out As You Go" Mentality. Lots of Office Politics. This all depends on which group you are hired into. My group had poor management and did not engage with their employees. Management training is not provided to help with career progression. Systems training is not provided to ensure documentation is being performed properly. All of my projects have been on a "figure it out as you go" mentality. You need to make friends with someone who knows what they are doing so you can learn from them.

Stepping Stone

Pros

-Great starting salary -National recognition -Interesting projects -Young company -Involvement at all phases of project (both pro and con). -Phenomenal stepping stone for other jobs.

Cons

The company definitely relies on the golden handcuffs to keep you. Pay is great when you start as a college grad, however it catches up by the time you are PM. By the time you realize it you have accrued "internal stock" that takes 15 years to vest. Some PMs are very unprofessional and while that is great when you are young, you slowly realize it is not somewhere you want to grow. Unless you are in HQ, it is hard to accelerate your career. Worked with some people that were clearly hired to fill spots - not contribute. All in all - extremely conservative place to work. You'll have to settle for consistent, yet average life style.
