Avoid Plano

Business Outlook

Pros

Technical skills are valued, so strong performers can still contribute meaningfully.

Cons

Rampant favoritism and cliques affect pay and promotion decisions. At least one partner delays work until close to deadlines, creating stress and inefficiency for the Plano tax team. Often absent from the office. Compensation is lower compared to similar firms. Partner management is often dysfunctional, siloed, and inconsistent, exacerbating favoritism.

Working at Whitley

Pros

It was a very good experience, everyone is really down to earth even during the stresses of busy season.

Cons

I didn’t really have any negative experiences. I would say maybe more flexibility with work from home, but I can understand why a first year or intern wouldn’t get much of that.
