Tired of Unfair, Retaliatory Reviews

Pros

I am a current Wolfe employee who recently came across a company review containing such outrageous falsehoods that I felt compelled to address it. The review, published in October of 22, entitled Avoid at all Costs!!! (Terrible place to Work) not only misleads potential hires who may miss a wonderful opportunity here, but also offends and discredits the good people of this firm who work so hard to produce good work and contribute to a healthy culture. The review made the following unfair claims: No career advancement: FALSE In my 10 years at the firm, I have watched firm management mentor research associates into strong lead analysts, administrative assistants move on to research and sales associate positions and into senior management roles and Help Desk employees take on senior positions within the Operations department. Opportunities need to be earned and over the years the firm’s founder Ed Wolfe has created a brand and reputation built on the hard work of smart people. Poor Company Culture: FALSE In my 10 years, I have seen the culture change tremendously. Today’s Wolfe Research is very different from the Wolfe of 2008. There’s transparency, opportunity, and a community of people who work every day to make Wolfe a better place. No Training, Low Budget Research Tools, and Inefficient Technology: False In fact, the training opportunities at Wolfe have significantly expanded over the past several years and many employees have noted this to HR and management. This includes more training from external experts as well as our own internal analysts and sales people. Over the summer, Wolfe curated a 10-week training program for all Associates and Summer Interns, which has received positive feedback. Additionally, the firm has recently invested in major tech software, including a new Research Publishing Platform through Blue Matrix and a new CRM system, through Singletrack. Again, to make such claims regarding training and technology are simply inaccurate. Diversity a Joke: False. This is perhaps the most offensive and disturbing claim of all and discredits the good work of so many at the firm. In the past few years, the firm has worked very hard to create a culture of belonging, and an environment that provides employees with development and opportunity. The members of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, take pride in the work that they do and spend their personal time working towards achieving the committee’s vision. Change does not happen overnight and often not for lack of trying but we are learning and building and supported by the firm’s founder who takes his responsibility to the firm and community very seriously. He attends meetings with purpose and with a spark in his eye, committed always to learning from the D&I members as well as from external experts on how to create a culture of belonging and an environment that offers development and opportunity. Everyone is entitled to share their opinion and experience but to have someone discredit our work so callously is unacceptable.

Cons

Expect early hours and evening availability, management is understanding but you must work hard.

Pros

I read a recent review that portrayed Wolfe unfavorably, and while I appreciate that each person's work experience is unique, the review is nonsense and wholly inaccurate. Simply put, Wolfe hires smart, motivated people with different backgrounds and experiences to bring their best to the firm. I have been with Wolfe since May in a senior attorney role and I am absolutely comfortable being a diverse employee who brings "my total self" to the role every day. D&I is taken seriously and we are learning by trying and by doing - that comes straight from the top. Both management and my colleagues appreciate what I do, why I do it and want me to be empowered and impactful. It is clear that the firm's goal of retaining the top analysts and sales teams to provide our clients with the best research on the street drives our culture - to be successful, everyone's job is important, and everyone can contribute. Really, that is easy to get behind. From my perspective, within groups and across teams, people are collaborative, committed and eager to share. And they in fact do care about each other as colleagues and individuals. This is the sign of a healthy firm culture, where management appreciates that the most important assets of the company are the talented people who have joined the team.

Cons

I do not have any cons to share.
