Pros

Recognition program when the awards are given and approved. Flexible working depending on the leader.

Within my time at WH, things have gone downhill rapidly. From insincere company updates to layoffs this week the lack of communication from leadership is astounding. From HX having reviews removed to gaslighting reviewers in their responses, the cognitive dissonance between what we preach to the market to what we actually experience is unreal. Each company update maintains the position that everything is fine and fantastic but yet pipeline has slowed down and we've been in a hiring freeze for a year. This has not once been communicated in a company update. These layoffs were poorly communicated and left many people in a state of uncertainty for an entire day. The CHRO that was hired left shortly after starting with 0 communication to employees on their exit.

We are heartbroken by the decision and are committed to being as generous and helpful as possible with those individuals impacted by these changes. I want to address the point about the layoffs, as this is a human moment that we are all still grappling with. While we deeply regret that for some of our humans there was uncertainty throughout the day of the announcement, we were committed to communicating with the people directly impacted by the layoff in person, and not notifying them by email. Your advice to management is important and something we endeavour to do better at moving forward. If you would like to come and discuss the views you have shared above with me directly, I am more than happy to speak in confidence at any stage.

Pros

Really positive, respectful and interesting place to work. The people are lovely and I've never had such great work-life balance. Recognition program is unbelievable, I've never felt so appreciated and receive feedback all the time to recognise me and help me grow. Huge support for developing people e.g. attending conferences, paying for tuition etc.

Cons

Really enjoying working here, no cons to speak of

Not what it used to be....

Great co-workers and a world class internal recognition program. Favorable work/life balance.

Company is going through some major changes and is absolutely not what it used to be. Globoforce literally sells a recognition solution and promotes happiness, culture and positivity but has lost their way over the last year or so...the morale is really lackluster which is ironic given what we preach to our customers. Priorities change daily...are we selling recognition, are we selling performance or are we promoting a Conference? Mentality is that of "drop everything" to focus on something which will change next month. A year ago we were told we would be fired if we tried too hard to sell a certain product, now we will be fired if we don't sell it. Lots of turnover lately, voluntarily and involuntarily, which again is ironic for a company that sells a recognition solution to help promote engagement and reduce turnover. Very little advancement or promotional opportunity. If there is a promotion, it seems to be based on favoritism sadly. Major disconnects between different layers of management, the different sales team and marketing. Certain departments and groups are looked at negatively and unfavorably from management...this is glaringly obvious. The hypocrisy behind the scenes and what is actually being said is sad.

Thank you for your feedback. While difficult to hear, we do want to hear all perspectives from all employees. All feedback is important. We do get a lot of positive feedback from employees on our culture and workplace environment, which is obviously great. However, it’s the feedback from the smaller percentage that can truly matter. If someone is not having the same experience that we typically see and hear, then we want to learn more and learn why. We know we’re far from perfect. As we grow and scale at the pace we are, it brings with it many changes. There is no blueprint for a company like ours to achieve the vision we think is possible. There will be roadblocks along the way and challenges (both internal and external) we can’t even imagine today. It is my hope that we continue this dialogue, as it is only through feedback from everyone (both positive and negative) that we can continue to grow as an organization and team. Pros

Employee engagement tools like Workhuman are highly relevant in today's world. Good work-life balance. Excellent employee recognition program using our own software.

Cons

Executive leadership team does not authentically embrace and live the company values. Too many conflicting priorities and projects. High pressure environment to achieve aggressive growth goals.

Great place to work (GPTW #2 in 2018 and in top 10 for the past 4-5 years), super flexible, work hard to create an environment where you can make a contribution - backed up by investing over 7% of payroll in their own peer-to-peer employee recognition program (avg in ireland would 0%-0.2%)
