Pros

This is my first job out of college, and I have been told countless times by working adults older than me to never leave! I interned here for three months and then came on full time about a year and a half ago. I have always been overwhelmed with the idea of working 40 hours a week in a corporate setting, but Workiva has encompassed an excellent and efficient work-life balance setting. The company's culture encourages me to work harder and have more enthusiasm for my work and the company. I have fun everyday, and literally look forward to coming to work. Even as an intern, I was expected to do the quality of work as if I were a full-time employee, and that carried over to when I was brought on full time. My management team respects my work and my team. I am able to have a say in company-wide initiatives, and work with teams from all levels and areas of the company on a wide range of projects. Workiva has given me the growth in my professional life that I require in a first job, and will continue to provide me the growth I will need going forward.

Cons

There is a couple teams who don't work well with other teams, and that can get in the way of a successful completion of a project, and can severely affect the views the company may have on those teams.

Pros

I began working at Workiva, formerly WebFilings, as an intern and then transitioned to full-time upon graduation, like many of my fellow employees. During my time as an intern, I was given considerable projects and responsibilities that pushed me to grow professionally and personally. The experience I gained did far more for me than any amount of homework or any class I could take in college. I was expected to do well and to be available when needed, but was given flexibility and generous compensation for my position. I knew that I and my work was highly valued. As a full-time employee, I have been a part of major company projects and changes that have continued to challenge me. I find that the challenges bring opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and enjoyable work. Workiva also takes care of us with incredible benefits, a lively work atmosphere, continuing professional development, and makes listening to the employees a priority. My favorite part of Workiva? My coworkers. They are skilled, intelligent, and kind. I've worked on projects with members from every team and level of management, even as an intern, and was given respect and the tools I needed to be successful. It's truly a team environment, an inspiring environment, that I love coming to work to every day.

Cons

Workiva experiences internal change quickly and sometimes abruptly. This affects some teams at different rates and intensities than others and can cause stress to those not used to the fast pace or those not willing to embrace change.

Pros

I took a job at Workiva, formerly WebFilings, with little to no background on the company. It was definitely a risk worth taking. From the moment I started, I felt engaged in and valued by my team. My manager and my coworkers wanted me to succeed in my role and they were and still are eager to help me as I encounter new challenges and we work together for the benefit of the team. The executives at this company value people over process. A good workplace culture is important to me and is one of the main reasons I took the job. The Executives understand the importance of a good work-life balance and they work to accommodate employees at every turn. Each employee gets a laptop so work can be done at the office or from home. This has proven to be incredibly helpful to me on numerous occasions so far. The offices are set up to encourage conversation and community. Every idea is accepted and talked about. Employees are encouraged to share their ideas. There are great perks to coming into the office like healthy snacks and company lunch. Health and exercise are important to me, so I take advantage of the onsite gym at the Ames location to make sure I get my workout in. All in all, what's most important to me is that I genuinely enjoy coming to work every day (or logging in from home). Having worked for a few other companies in my career, Workiva is really a diamond in the rough. It has provided a great culture, a great work-life balance, and an incredible opportunity for growth.

Cons

The company is growing fast. This means that change and growth are constantly an option. If you aren't prepared for that, it may seem a little daunting at times. However every decision made is data-driven, which means that it's been thought about long and hard and all possibilities have been considered, so I've greeted change as an opportunity rather than a set-back and I've really enjoyed my experience.
