Pros

MONEY. You will earn more tips here than most of the other resorts. Work here and your resume is golden... You'll be able to work ANYWHERE.

Cons

Tips are great, but hourly and union wages are the LOWEST on the entire strip. Constant stress and threats. Very negative vibe and energy. Terrible morale, you hardly ever see co-workers that are genuinely happy with the company or happy to be at work, all from the negative reinforcement and constant threat of discipline. Poor management, never take account for own shortcomings and instead heaps blame on subordinates. The actual good managers never get the recognition or ever stay because only the brown nosers survive and thrive. You know what trickles down (rhymes with "it"), from the always angry big boss to the entry level workers...

Pros

Beautiful surroundings with an International brand recognition.

Cons

Lowest pay on the Strip High degree of turn-around No one knows whats going on Great disconnect between management and their employees Horrible vacation - one week per year, and you can't take it until you've been there one year. Most people are there to get some experience and move on

Pros

You have steady work and a good paycheck.

Cons

Unwilling to allow for time off when you want it. Unwritten policy - take time off when the hotel wants you to go. Management refuses to approve/deny leave requests until day leave to begin. Multiple call backs required to get even a denial of the leave request. Employer recognition amounts to an occasional candy bar or other significant items. Employer states not enough workers to get job done but new hires are rarely seen. Las Vegas has a double digit unemployment rate so people should be looking for work.
